Jüdische Kulturtage Berlin/ Days of Jewish Culture

Each year, the Jewish Community of Berlin presents a cultural festival for Berliners and their guests: the “Days of Jewish Culture”. Launched in 1987 as part of the celebrations of the 750th anniversary of the founding of Berlin, the festival became a part of the cultural scene in re-unified Berlin and “cultural must” for the Jewish community – not only for Jews, but in fact primarily for those Berliners and their guests for whom the Days of Culture provide an introduction to Jewish culture and Jewish life in Germany today.

Each year, the Days of Jewish Culture are dedicated to a different theme, expressed through theatrical performances, readings, discussions, exhibits and concerts featuring outstanding performers from around the world.

Past festivals have been dedicated to various cities, including Vienna, Odessa, New York, Paris and Tel Aviv; or to the “Roaring Twenties.” In 2008, the focus was on the 60th anniversary of the founding of Israel.
