Religious instruction ouside of Jewish schools

The Jewish community offers religious education for kids who are not attending Jewish schools. These classes are held either in public schools or are hosted by Jewish community institutions.

For the 2009/2010 academic year, we plan to extend the offerings of religious classes outside Jewish schools, based on the interest and financial situation of parents.

Rabbi Gesa S. Ederberg is coordinating this extra-curricular religious education program.

Its goal is to offer children and teens challenging and interesting Jewish religion classes, which are fun and also provide

  1. Jewish knowledge and skills in an age-appropriate manner, and
  2. the tools with which they can learn to nurture their individual Jewish identity within a pluralistic Jewish community and multi-cultural society.

Central religious education

Our offer this school year is addressed to primery school children (1st - 6th grade). This year we want to meet on eight sundays at different places to learn together. Depended from number of the children we will group them. we will do some handicraft, draw, sing and do many other things! Each sunday will be thematecally selfcontained, so that it doesn't matter if you can't participate on one of the dates for an important reason. Missed units can be repeated next year, and you can join at any time, but it is important to stay the whole day. We ask for binding registration, and cancellation (even at short), to make it easier to plan.
